Christmas Eve

Harriate had laid awake most of the night staring out the window in thought.
Remus had gone through so much trouble for her and she didn't deserve it. She had no idea what she was going to get Remus for christmas. She had the whole of 2 galleons left after sendign all her savings to the ministry to get Remus out of jail. She had her sketch book and knife and the Silver dagger but that was about it. Glancing out into the sunrise she gazed at some logs ands a small smile lit her face.
She could try and make little statues from them. She used to be able to do it. used to apss time in the orphanage.
Digging through her bag she pulled out her spare set of clothes till her proper ones were fixed. the combats were more like ankle bashers and the tank showed her belly button but it would do for now.
Throwing them om and sliding her feet into her boots she crept downstairs knife tucked safely in her pocket. She didnt bother covering her Dark mark here.She grabbed a tea towl on her way out the backdoor.
Shiviering slightly at the chill but glad for the suns slight heat she made her way over to the piles of logs and dusted a few free of snow. Sitting on one she pulled one closer and useing the knife started to wittle it into a shape. The finished structure would be able to fit in her palm.
She sat out there for hours forgetting about the cold as she grew used to it. her fingers moved across the wood and the knife slid easily through each piece.
Finaly she was finished and had a fair few miniature staues in various shapes.
She slide the knife back into her pocket andwrapped the statues in the tea towl before heading back in. Her skin was paler from the cold and her lips a bright red and her cheeks had a nice red glow to them. She wiped her boots on the outside mat before taking them off and carried them into the house carefull not to get snow everywhere.

Silver carried a shopping bag into the kitchen. Poured it's contents out on the table. Cookie dough and cookie cutters and tubs of icing and sprinkles slid out of the bag. She got everything she needed together and grabbed a cookie sheet for baking on.

She rolled the dough out on the table. Using the cookie cutters, she cut out Christmas tree shapes, reindeers and snowman and santa shape ones too.

She had a surprise for them all when it came time to decorate the tree later.

Harriate heard someone in the kitchen and didnt know if she was supposed to be out of the house or not so she crept upstairs and hid the statues in her back pack. She glanced at the clock and walked down the stairs again.

Harriate smiled slightly seeing Remus asleep on the sofa before heading back upstairs. She grabbed the blanket off her bed and covered him carefully in it a small smile to her glowing face.

She pulled the first tray of cookies out of the oven and put them on a platter. The house was smelling of sweet cookies and she liked the smell. She put another batch in to bake. She was really liking this Christmas stuff it was fun, she thought to herself.

Harriate sniffed and frowned wondering what the smell was. She had never smelt anything like it before and guessed Silver must be cooking. She sat down on the floor infront of the fire crossed legged.

She had the last batch of cookies baking in the oven. She sat at the table decorating some of the cookies as they cooled. She wanted to save some for the others to decorate for themselves too.

harriate stared at the fire for a whil before realising she was very thirsty she got up and stood in the kitchen doorway awkwardly.
'Ermm..Silver...is it ok if i have a glass of water please?'

She looked up...."Sure have anything you like." "Would you like to help decorate some cookies?" "Give you something to do, if you feel like it that is."

Harriate nodded smiling the healthy red glow from being outside for hours still on her face.
'I'd love to.' She grabbed a glass from the cupboard and walked over to thr tp filling it up before drinking it. She then washed the glass up before drying it and putting it back into the cupboard.
She turned back walkign to the table and using the stuff Silver had laid out started decorating the cookies. She smiled brighter as Remus came in.
'morning.'

Silver smiled seeing Remus. "Guess everyones off getting ready for tomorrow. "Would you like to help decorate or eat cookies she asked playfully to Remus."

"Glad Harriates decided to get involved and help out with christmas, she said and winked at Harriate.

The red glow on Harriates cheeks changed to a blush but her smile remained.
'Still don't understand the whole christmas thing but of course i'll help out.'

Teddy walked into the room after taking a look around the house. "Hey guys."

Harriate laughed slightly at Remus as he decorated the cookie only to eat it again and usign the icing and little balls made one with his name on it and handed to him.
'Only the ones with your name on' She smirked which soon became a smile.

Silver laughed watching them. She looked up to see Teddy.

"Hello Teddy..come join us, maybe we can have a decorating contest", she said with a small laugh. "Doubt Remus will save any before eating them," she said giving Remus a wink and a smile.

Harriate burst into laughter at Remus antics. she made him, teddy and Silver all ones with there names on and held them out.
'Hi Teddy.' She said smiling bright.

"Hey" he said to Harriate " Ya just cant imagine dad eating a lot" he smirked.

Harriate shook her head and continued decorating the biscuits.
'No thank you. i just had a glass of water.'

Silver laughed..having a good time with them all. She looked down and had icing all over shirt. She made cookie with Ashleys name too, since she was to little to do it herself. She didn't won't her left out. She got more cookies from the oven and slide them onto the table to cool in a dish.
