The First Family Christmas

Harriate swayed slightly as they re appeared and shivered in the cold still being in her hospital gown. She saw Remus wand on the floor and picked it up for him and hurried to the door on shaky legs opening it wide for him.

Silver smiled running up the stairs throwing the door open for them. She then went back to Harriate and helped her up the stairs.

"Okay Harriate lets get you comfy."

Harriate smiled slightly at Silver gratefull for the help but blushed slightly at just how weak she was. She hated having to rely on other people. She was to used to doing things by herself.

They walked through the door Silver shut it tight behind them and lead Harriate to a chair by the fire, she didn't want her getting to chilled.

She then went to Remus and giving him a break she took Ashley laying her in a crib close to them all.

Harriate sat down in the chair gratefully glad for the heat and pulled her knees up to her chest wrapping her arms around them but made sure the hospital robe was pulled down. How she loathed anything not trousers.
'No thank you.' Harriate mumbeled voice still a little soar. The teddy still in her arms as she stared into the fire.

"Tea and biscuits would be nice I think. Hold us over till dinner, she said smilling to him."

"How about you Harriate you need anything to make you more comfortable. Pillows and a blanket maybe", she asked concerned?

Harriate shook her head.
'No thank you i'm fine.' she smiled slightly still staring into the flames.

Silver went up to the attic, she remembered seeing some chrsitmas decorations in boxes up there, when she was cleaning the house up. She came back down, sat some boxes in a corner till they were ready to use. She then walked to the fire and put some more wood in it. She wanted the place warm and comfortable for them all. She was so grateful to have a actual house to live in from the cold.

She then walked to the kitchen, she had something she wanted to ask Remus.

"Remus I was wondering, do you have any money..I could use to go to Hogsmead with, buy somethings? I want to get some gifts if I can", she asked hoping he would say yes.

She smiled and hugged him. Thank you so much. Don't need much really...just want to get some things to make it special. Already special as it is though, she said smilling.

Oddly she had joy in her heart, something she had never felt until Remus came into her life.

"I'll go after we eat and have to feed the baby first too. You need any help?"

Harriate glanced over at Ashley to make sure she was alright and smiled slightly as she watched her.She wondered if Cody and Teddy would be here as well.

She smiled again and took the cup.

"I can take Harriates to her to, less for you to carry. You don't need to over do it anyway. I'm sure Ashley will sleep while I'm gone so you both can rest if you need it."

'Im really not hungry' Harriate mumbeled and looked away from Ashley and back to the fire.

Harriate sighed knowing that Remus would keep on about it if she didn't and picked up the biscuit nibbling on it.
'Happy? Why do i have to eat if im not hungry?'

She handed Harriated a cup of hot chocolate.

"Be best to eat and regain your strength Harriate, she said taking a pie and sitting on the sofa biting into it."

Harriate took the hot chocolate and blew on the top sipping it before placing it on the table.
'thanks. i guess. just dont see why i need to eat if im not hungry. Waste of food.'
Harriate looked at the mince pie with a raised eyebrow.
'What exactly are they?'

"Yes they are very tasty...not had them before I met Remus. Nice to have good food now and not cook over a open fire in the forest. Very grateful for such good food."

"Won't kill you to eat, but might harm you if you don't. We wouldn't say if we didn't care...you know", she said with a smile to harriate.
