During The Halloween Ball

Scarlet walked out towards the lake. She had just left the Halloween ball, and before she came out here she had changed to something more comfortable; A long, floating white dress which came down to her shins, and white shoes with a small heel. She had wiped off her red eye make up and hadnt replaced it with any other make up.

She went and sat at the edge of the lake, the water touching her shoes and feet. The water was like ice but Scarlet didnt care, she felt numb on the inside anyway..

Hermione followed the two girls out to the lake, reaching them as quickly as she could.

"Are you alright Scarlet?" She asked, looking concerned.

"Are you sure?" Hermione asked kindly, sitting down beside her "Why did you run from the hall?"

Hermione reached over and gave Scarlet a hug, she didn't want to see her friend so sad.

"Whatever happens.. Ill be here for you, so will Ginny and everyone else" She assured[sp] her "We're you friends"

Scarlet hugged her back, slightly. Her feet were completely numb now; Which was how she felt inside.

She smiled, "I know you are.. But things have happen lately, people have said things and they're making me re-think everything. Sometimes I just think I'm to trusting.."

She was still staring at the lake, she just wanted to jump in, feel the icy water surround[sp] and engulfe her..

"You can always trust me.." She replied, smiling at her.

"Why don't you take your feet out of the lake? They must be freezing!" She said. sounding concerned.

Scarlet smiled. "I know, 'Mione, I know."

She looked down at her feet, they were a slightly blue-ish colour. "Oh, no it's not cold at all, they're fine. I'd prefer if they were in the water.."

"Good" She smiled back.

"They're blue!" Hermione said in disbelief "Thats not fine!"

Hermione cast a warming spell on the patch of water around Scarlets feet, so the her feet could be warm, but still in the water.

"Well, keep them in the water now" She said "I just don't want you to get cold.."

Hermione looked at her "Why do you want them cold? Ill take of the charm, if you really want.." She offered.

Hermione sighed sadly, her eyes filling with a few tears, she didn't like seeing her friend this upset.

"If your really sure.." She whispered.

"Alright.." She nodded sadly, taking the charm off the water. She then took of her shoes and put her feet in the water "Its only fair" She reasoned, smiling a little

Hermione smiled slightly "Well, Im staying here until you do!" She laughed slightly.

Hermione cast a warming spell on just her feet. "No" She laughed, she knew Scarlet had seen what she had just done, so she couldn't disagree.
