Sun set.

The sun was just setting as Harriate sat outside on the bank by the ricer her cane lay beside her.
She hoped she finished healing soon before the full moon came about again. greyback had certainly not gone easy on her.

Rose padded towards Harriate after a lonely afternoon's hunting. She was carrying a single blood red rose in her mouth, which she placed at Harriate's feet before transforming. "I heard you were hurt. And I heard you like roses." She sat hugging her knees, staring at the sun.

Harriate smiled slightly and picked up the rose.
'Thank oyu.' She said her voice still a bit rough from the damage to her neck.

"So, what happened?" Rose realised that she sounded a bit nosy asking questions straight out. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It's just nice to talk, I think anyway..."

'I don't quite know...Can't remember much..Just know it was Greyback.' She coughed from the strain on her throat from talking.

"Ah." Harriate didn't need to say anymore. Rose had heard the stories about Greyback and only needed to look at Harriate's awkward movements to see that the rumours were probably true. Looking concerned, Rose conjured a goblet of water for Harriate.

Harriate gave her a small smile fratefully accepting the water and sipping it feeling the cool water slide down her sore throat,
'Thanks.'

Staring into the water, Rose became hypnotised by the gently swirling currents. Dipping some fingers in casually, she felt completely relaxed.

Harriate looked out at the river then up at the sunset. it was so beautifull yet the river was calm yet scared her.

"Why does the water scare you?" Rose turned her head, looking back at her companion inquisitively.

Harriate looked up at her in surprise wondering how she knew.
'it..doesn't..'She lied.

"Right." Rose shook her head, her brow furrowed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have known that."

Harriate raised an eyebrow and looked at Rose.
'What do you mean?'

"It's new, I can't help it." She turned, so she was sitting facing Harriate. "I'm an Empath. Or, at least, that's what Harry said it was called..."

'oh...right...err..i'm not..scared..well..i...am..' harriate looked over the lake.
'I..can't swim.'

"That's nothing big." Rose smiled slightly. She'd thought it would be more sinister than that. "Deep water scares me too." In both the real and metaphorical sense, she thought.

Sirius walked along the bank of the Lake, wondering where james was now, he looked out on the calm water, remembering the all the mischief and fun The Marauders had had on the lake.

'well...nearly drowned...someone....' harriate coughed a hand on her chest in pain.

Sirius continued walking, he heard voices and looked up, he saw rose and then his eyes settled on Harriate.

"Who?" Rose sat upright and sniffed the air suddenly. Strange smell...human, but unfamiliar...

Harriate sat there for a moment trying to steady her breathing feeling the pain in her chest. She caught something from the corner of her eye and looked up seeing Sirius there.
'Someone..tried to..drown me..'

Rose saw him too. Confused, she sniffed again, testing the scent. It was definitely human, and definitely coming from the man near them, but there was a subtle difference underneath the familiar smell.

Sirius watched Harriate, when she looked up he quickly looked away and continued walking, gradually getting closer and closer to the two girls.

Harriate clenched her chest with one hand as her coughign became more and more as she tried to steady her breathing.
She closed her eyes tight waiting for the moment to pass.

"Harriate, do you know him?" Rose asked, a bit worried about his scent.
