Lesson One: Boggarts

The Classroom was filled with students standing around looking around the classroom.
The chairs and desks hand been pushed to the sides of the room, making a large area for the students to stand, and for something else to come.
The Office door opened and Lupin walked down the narrow staircase and to his desk where he simple ticked off who was there on the register.
"All present, good can get started." he said walking to the front of the class, where he stood beside a old worn looking trunk.
The trunk twitched and shook, trembled now and then like it was alive.
"Good afternoon Students, today for your first lesson of the term I thought we could do something fun to get into the swing of things again."
He looked to the trunk and then back to class
"Today we will be learning about defending ourselves from Boggarts."
Lupin pointed to the students "Please put your wands away for the first half of the lesson..."
He watched them put their wands away till he continued
"A Boggarts is a shape shifter, this means they can change their appearance, in this case a Boggart transforms into your worst fears..No one actually knows what a Boggart looks like, because we all fear something..
In muggle world they have myths of Boggarts, which are true, they came from here, Scotland, but they say the look like little imp like creatures.. cause mayhem and mischief around muggle houses.. here they do as I said, use your fear against you.. weaken you.
Boggarts like to hide in dark enclosed spaces, like, trunks, wardrobes and one was even reported to be found in a old grandfather clock.."
Lupin started to pace up and down as he spoke, then stopped and took out his wand
"There's a easy way to repel a boggart, first you need to think of something funny, picture it in your mind and use the incantation ..Riddikulus. The Boggart will then be forced to take whatever shape you though amusing.. understand, now think it's time we started.."
Lupin walked up to the class and pointed his wand at the trunk and the lid opened and a... __________ came out and towards you

it was the first DADA lesson and Tina was very excited about the new teacher, Professor Lupin. She raced down to the classroom so she'd be as early a s possoble. Professor Lupin wan't there. 'Good' she thought as she sat down and took out her book. the other students whispered and chatted around Tina as she absently fliked through her book - she was prone to daydreaming. Professor Lupin entered and silence fell over the classroom. His clothing was shabby and he wasnt very healthy looking, but tina thought he was an impressive looking man nevertheless. he explained all about Boggarts and Tina listened intently. Tina became slowly more nervous as her turn approached. finally, she took a deep breath and stepped forward. The boogart, which had just been a tiger with no teeth changed into how her brother had looked as he lay in his coffin. "Ri-riddikulus.." she stuttered. "Concentrate Miss Toolan" Lupin said loudly, but not harshly. Tina reminded herself that this was just a creature and she stood strait and proudly cried "Riddikulus!" and the boggart suddenly turned into a little kitten. Proud of herself, Tina joined the end of the line. The lesson flew by and it was one of the best Tina had. Professor Lupin gave the students their homework, then dismissed them with a smile.

Jasmine walks into Lupin's classroom, very excited about her first DADA lesson. She listened carefully through the first lesson while taking notes. Jasmine smiled when the second half started. She loves doing the hands on stuff during her lessons. Jasmine waited patiently in line for her turn. Finally after waiting for 15 minutes her turn started. Jasmine walked up to the front of the line and draws out her wand. The boggart transformed into a boy with black hair and green eyes and he was holding a gun. Jasmine closed her eyes and tryed to think of something that makes her laugh. Then she opens her eyes with a very good idea in mind and she bravely raises her wand and screams,"RIDDIKULUS!!!!!!" The boy (boggart) turned into a clown that fell into a large swimming pool full of mud. Jasmine burst out laughing and she walked to the back of the line feeling relieved and sick at the same time.

Annabelle walked up to the shaking trunk. Her wand at the ready. Annabelle hated the fact of doing this infront of the class because she always got nervous. So she crept even closer to the trunk and with each step it seemed to shake even more, and so did her nerves. Finaly she stopped infront of it.
It opened......A strange feeling of fear crept into her mind as a tall dark woman stepped out. Long black robes dangled from her back as if they were perminanlty stuck to it. Her long black hair covered her face, but as she crept even closer she gave an alarming smile and revieled long white teeth which were as sharp as daggers. She was a vampire. It was a creature that Annabelle had feared ever since she was a child.
By now her hands, legs and knees were shaking so much that she nearly collapsed onto the floor. She held up her wand and spoke the words as clearly as she could " RIDDIKKULUS". Then suddenly her feeling of fear melted away into a sence of laughter, as the vampiress inflated int0 a gigantic plate of pink bloumange.
Annabelle couldn't help but laugh as she turned away and sat at the back of te room.

Harriate had entered the class early and made notes on everything the professor had said. When everyone stood up for the practical she stood and joined the que wand held tightly in her hand staring at the trunk nervously. She didn't know what her worse fear was exactly. but she had a pretty good clue. She tried to think of something funny but had a bit of difficulty. She arranged her face so that noe motion showed on it at all as she watched the person infront of her step up and tackle there worst fear. Finaly it was her turn.
Stepping forward Harriate stared at the boggart as it changed form, seeming to her to take ages to make up its mind even if it was only seconds.
The boggart shifted into the shape of a figure before chaning into another one quickly. All the figures where lying dead on the floor eyes staring up at her in blame. Barty Crouch Jr, Remus Lupin, Emerald Riddle all appeared before her. Harriate tried hard to concentrate as felt fear overcome her and raised her wand at the boggart.
'Riddikulus' She said said putting as much power and conviction into the spell as she could and watched as the boggart shifted into Albus Dumbledore wearing a pink and yellow pulka dot summer dress with matching tights and high heels with a straw hat. Letting out a small amount of laughter before smirking Harriate walked to the back of the classroom relief at having completed the task and having it finished yet there was still that constant fear lurking inside her letting her know that what she saw had already partialy happen and could happen again.

laughing at other peoples ideas Harry Awaited his turn and in doing so he thought to himself about what he was afraid of, was it Voldemort? no harry and fought him many times over the past years, then he thought of Snape but then again he was hardly scary at all next he thought of a Dementor which he had previously faced, Harry didn't really no what he was afraid of.

When it was Harry's turn he walked to the front an expression of excitement mingled with what could be passed as a sign of some sort of fear yet with slight epectancy , with his wand raised pointing at the wardrobe which was soon to produce the thing he feared the most. Holding his wand ready the wardrobe door swung open there was a moment of confussion as the Boggart struggled to think of what to become , then Harry rememberd that time on the train and that time with Sirius, how the Dementors glided carelessly and effortlessly there dark cloke like figure with no eyes and a mouth like a black hole sucking anything and everything happy. The Boggart twisted and turned then formed the shape of a Dementor a sensation of coldness and unplesentness ran over him as it glided towards Harry he pictured somthing funny based on the black cloke an with that Harry rasied his wand and shouted, "RIDDIKKULUS! " the Dementor slolwy deflated into a cloke he laughed at the thought of being scared of somthing that reminded him oddly of a raincoat, then He stepped back for the next person

Charley Jean listened intently to her Proffessor, so as not to look foolish when it was her turn to try.
She fidgeted in the line as student after student faced thier worst fear and defeated it. Finally it was her turn.
Numbly she walked forwards, hoping against hope that it woudn't guess her fear, but too late! The Boggart transformed smoothly into a huge Basilisk. Charley Jean stumbled back, petrified. She quickly shielded her eyes from the Basilisk and stepped back a little. She could hear laughter from the Slytherins as she tripped over the hem of her robe and fell to the floor.
Charley Jean quickly got to her feet again and pointed her wand in frustration at the huge, scay creature in front of her and shouted "Riddikulus!".
The Basilisk lunged at her, cought its huge head on the classroom ceiling and fell on the floor in a heap biting its own toungue in the process.
Charley Jean giggled and put her wand away, walking to the back of the class where she sat down, content at the Basilisk's defeat.

Veronica walked in, her hair up in a disorderly ponytail. She had been anticipating what she would be doing in class.

Lupin walked up to the class and pointed his wand at the trunk and the lid opened and a man in a clown costume came out and towards her. She pulled out her wand, a little cocky, and pointed it at the man she knew wasn't really all he appeared to be.

"Riddikulus!" she yelled, as it the clown let out a high pitched shriek and twisted and morphed until it reached its new form of a monkey (face still painted to look like a clown), itching his bottom and then smelling his fingertip, making a disgusted face. The class cracked up laughing as she moved to the back of the line, satisfied with her work.

Pase Impore arrived to the class as the teacher had begun speaking, he remaied in the back, more of a ghost than a living organisme. The teacher asked to put their wands away as he bgun speaking. He remained emotionless as a box began to rattle, it put a smirk on his face. The teacher told them the incantation and he went in line, waiting for his turn. When it finaly came and the ridiculous nonsence had ended. The monster before him, which was currently a monkey with face paint, began to twist and conform. It came out as a body, just lieing on the ground. It could have been anything, but the thing seemed dead. He opend his eyes wide and almsot let out a gasp, but then he remembered and lifted his wand.

"Riddikulus!"

He called it with a hint of vigor as the corpse was lifted up like a puppet and began lively dancing, hsi face full of enthousiasme. Pase Impor had an extremly strange sense of humour, and few must have found this funny. But nothign was more frightening to him, then a dead corpse, and nothing was more heart warming or ,somewhat, funny, than a lively being. He smiled and walked to the back of the class.

Pansy, Was in the back of the class room, waiting in line, so she could face her 'worst' fear. Like she had any. When she got to the fornt of the line, Pansy took a deep breath, and the boggart turned into Pansy falling down a cliff. Pansy closed her eyes, so she couldn't see and said, "Ridickulas"(SP) and her fear turned into her jumping on a muggle play toy, A Trampulean.(SP). 'Pinally' Pansy thought to her self, and went over to Jasmine.

As Hermione,Harry and Jasmine ran out of the class room, Bailey walked up to the line that was located near the cupboard. She took a deep breathe, and she she throught of her worst fear. and then suddenly, Professor Mcgonagall turned into 4 people, lying dead on the ground. A tear slipped down Bailey's face, but she was determined to pass this lesson, so she took out her wand and said 'riddikulus' and the dead corpes turned into ashes, and fell on the floor.
Bailey smilied as she moved to the back of the line. She had actually done something right for a change.
