Back for Good?

Tina paused in front of the looming doors. Was going back really a good idea? She had been away for so long and missed so much. Would any of her friends still even be at school? Things were bad when she left, what if they had got worse?
After the breakdown - which she still couldn't explain - Tina had packed her things and left before the sun had even risen. No one knew why she had left, but as Tina had stood over the young girl in her dormitory, shaking with fear after realising she had been about to kill the girl, she decided that she wasn't safe.
She had gone to stay with one of her non-magical friends for a while; making up flamboyant tales of the 'boarding school' where she had been. Magic was great but the normality was fantastic. For a while. Then Tina had begun to miss Hogwarts and her friends.
So here she was. Outside the door. She took a deep breath - then realised how Hollywood she was acting, and smiled slightly. Tina picked up her cases and pushed the huge doors open, willing the Entrance Hall to be bereft of her friends, or anyone at all.

Rose had been hunting in the forest and had spotted Tina at the doors. In fox form, she ran back to the school, not quite believing her eyes. She burst into the Entrance Hall and ran at Tina, pulling her into a tight hug. "Tina!"

Tina nearly had a heart attack. She dropped her cases and her hand went straight for her wand - she was already quite panicky and being attacked by an enthusiastic nutter didn't help.
Realising it was Quat, Tina laughed and hugged her back. All hope of not seeing any of her friends, for tonight at least, dissapeared as Tina grinned and wispered "Hi" - it was a bit hard to breath.

Rose stepped back, smiling insanely. She'd missed Tina while she'd been gone. "So...two questions. Why did you go and why has it taken you so long to return?"

'Right, let the lieing begin.' Tina thought grimly. She had rehersed it all, but lying to a friends face is no broomride in the park.

"Oh, my mum gor really ill, really suddenly. I got an owl in the middle of the night and my head was all over the place. I wrote a note but forgot to leave it behind"
She smiled slightly, trying to act out perfectly regret and pain, but with a hint of humour.
"So I legged it in the middle of the night, trying to fly to Saint Mungo'd in the pitch dark is no easy task, I tell you! So anyway, luckily she was recovered- very slowly, though -and since my brother is working in Asia, I was the only one left to look after her.
Rose was the sharpest girl Tina has ever met, but she was banking on pure devoted friendship and pity to cause Rose to ask no awkward questions. But this was Quat. No questions was as likely as Tina's case coming to life and answering them for her.

"Right." Rose didn't believe her for a second, but decided to let the matter lie. There was probably a good reason for lying. "Well, I'm glad your mother is better...what was wrong with her?"

Oh dear.
"Oh, you know, magical incident..."
'My Mum isn't magic!!' Tina thought.
"Some one else did it to her..."

She avoided Quat's eyes and scratched her arm.

"Anyway, wanna give me a hand?" Tina guestured to her cases. "Long journey!" She yawned and smiled at her friend.
It was quite quiet, especially gor the hall - as it wasn't that late. Few people seemed to be around.
"So, how are you?"

"Oh, sure," Rose said as she picked up one of Tina's cases. Immediately, she nearly dropped it. "Bloody hell! What've you got in there?!?" She laughed and adjusted the handle in her grip. "I'm alright thanks..."

Tina laughed. "Oh, just rocks and cement - the usual!" She grinned.
"So, any new people I should know about?" She stumbled a bit on the stairs but barely noticed. She hated to be all poetic, but Tina really did feel very warm inside.

"There's lots of vampires and werewolves now...we're quite overcome with them all!" She laughed, and began to realise for the first time quite how many of her friends had these problems.

It was strange, but Tina felt sort of...annoyed. She was used to a lot of Werewolves, but she had been one of the only Vampires. Then, again, it would be cool!
Visions of all the Vampires hanging around in groups and scaring the first years made her smile.
"Any of them worth trying to befriend?" Tina wondered aloud.

"Gary, definitely!" Rose smiled. "He's my best friend, well, since you left me..." she sniffed, pretending to be upset.

marcius exited the hospital wing where he had been stealing medical supplies and jumped the banister land in the entrance hall four floors below he saw rose and a new girl and went over to them "do me a favor girls if madam pomfrey asks... you havnt seen me ok?"

Tina laughed at the boy.
"Oh allright, as long as those-" She pointed at the stolen goods " Are being taken for a good reason?!

marcius smiled at rose and then looked at the girl "ask no questions get told no lies" he said smiling "marcius btw" he said

"Tina" She smiled and did a mock-courtesy.
"Allright, then" She mimed zipping her mouth shut.
"Don't your feet hurt? That was quite a jump!" She grinned at Marcius, he must be new, Tina had never seen him before.

"na" he said looking up at the 4th floor hospital wing banister "thats the easy one, the gryffindor tower to the grounds aint so easy though" he said pointing with his thumb upto the gryffindor floor "snapped my ankle in 3 seperat places doing that one last week" he said matter of factly

"Oh, really? Well, why did you jump in the first place?" She laughed and Marcius' seriousness about, basically, leaping off buildings.
"Are you part kangaroo or something?" She smiled.

"kangaroo? well ive eaten one if that counts but noa im not, part wolf defianatly but as far as i know theres no kangaroo blood" he said smiling "and i do it casue its one of the only things worth doing round here to satisy my spirit, the giant spiders aenrt to keen on me going back to theyre lair" he looked at rose "wahts wrong with you"

"Fair enough!" Marcius didn't sound like someone to mess with. Tina turned and, picking up her cases carried on up the stairs. It seemed like there was a lot of new people to meet. Tina wondered what house Marcius was in. Hufflepuff didn't seem likely, maybe Slytherin. She wondered how many of these new people were in Ravenclaw. 'I hope they haven't taken my bed.' She thought grimly.

Gabrielle was back from Beauxbatons. It had been a really long time she wasn't in Hogwarts. She really hoped that her friends still remember her. She entered the entrace hall and looked around just in case she noticed someone. She saw Tina in distance so she run over toward her.

"Tina!!!!" she shouted and hugged her suddenly very tightly. "Do you still remember me?" She looked up and smiled broadly.
