A Waxing Gibbus/A Demon's night out

Jasmine ran into the forest feeling angry and upset. She just got into an arguement with her cousin Hermione again and it was just tearing her apart. With anger and rage flowing through her body, Jasmine looked up at the moon, which was a waxing gibbus. She knew it was getting close to the full moon and she had to come up with a plan to stay in her dorm or in the forest and to keep her demon side under control during that time. Still feeling bitter about what had happened earlier that day with Hermione and she was still pissed off about the even that happened earlier that week when she found out that Sirius was still working for Voldemort, Jasmine felt a surge of pain go throughout her body as her emotions of hatred and anger built up in her mind. She fell to her knees infront of a pond and looked at her reflection. Jasmine let out a high pitched scream when she watched her physical appearance change. Her lond dark brown curls straightened, her dark brown eyes became yellow and catlike, her canine teeth and fingernails grew, sharpened, and pointened and her ears developed points. Now in her wolf demon form, Jasmine let out a high pitched howl like a wolf and she began to wander around the forest.

Rose padded silently through the trees in fox form. She stopped, one paw in the air and sniffed cautiously. Something didn't smell right. She knew strange creatures prowled the forest at night, but this smell was unfamiliar. It did not belong. Going against every instinct in her body, she followed the smell.

The demon continued to wander around the forest until she stopped at a rose bush. She used one of her claws to cut one from the thorny rose bush. The demon smelled the red rose and she began to think about her pureblood wizard lover. The rose reminded her of him and she began to hope that he would find her here.

It was by a rosebush that the trail stopped. The cause of the scent must be on the other side. Carefully, soundlessly, Rose stepped around to the other side...

The demon continued to smell the red rose thinking about her wizard lover. She ignored any signs of danger or invasions buried so deep in her thoughts.

When Rose finally plucked up the courage to look round the rosebush to the source of the scent, she was so shocked that she forgot to be quiet. She howled, a blood-curdling howl of fear. She tried to run, but her fox legs were stuck. She couldn't move.

The demon quickly snapped out of her thoughts and she quickly dropped the rose onto the ground. She heard rustling inside of the rose bush. The demon got the scent of a fox and she walked over to investigate.

Panicking, Rose saw Jasmine moving towards her, but her feet still wouldn't work. She howled again, hoping someone might come and save her, but she knew it was too late. The forest was empty of human life tonight.

The demon heard some more rustling and howling from inside of the rose bush. She could smell the fox's stong scent infront of her. The demon continued to walk stealthily towards it with her claws at her side.

Rose tried to close her eyes, but it seemed her whole body was paralysed with fright. Her mouth was dry; she couldn't howl...the thing was getting closer...

The demon stopped infront of the rose bush and she raised one of her claws. She slashed through the throny bush with the scent of the fox still fresh and strong.

Finally, Rose managed to move her legs. Shakily, she ran back round the rosebush, and pulled up sharp. She'd almost run straight into it! She barked in shock, blowing her small amount of cover. This is it...she thought, and shut her eyes.

The demon stopped slashing the rose bush when the fox jumped out of it. She rose her head and she looked at the fox. The demon licked its lips and lunged at it.

Feeling the change in the air as the thing lunged, Rose let out one last howl of terror. Keeping her eyes firmly shut, she prepared for the worst.

The demon jumped onto the fox wanting to bite down into its flesh. She opened her mouth and bared her fangs ready to bite the trembling fox below her. Just then, the demon felt her human tried to communicate with her again. She stopped just inches away from the foxe's neck, ready to listen to her human side's message.

As panic spread through Rose's body, the fox seemed to melt away and her human form returned to her. She opened her eyes, and saw the demon on her, fangs hovering over her neck. It had stopped. Why? She tried to take advantage of the opportunity, to get up and run, but the demon was too strong for her. She lay there, struggling.

The demon watched the fox transform into a human girl. She could feel the girl struggle beneath her. Then her human side started to communicate to her,"Get up, let her go. She is not threat to you." The demon stepped away from the girl and looked at her curiously.

Rose couldn't speak. She got up cautiously, shaking visibly, and backed away from the demon slowly. It was like they taught you with wild animals in the muggle world. Back away slowly, no sudden movements, maintain eye contact. It was her own unfortunate luck that made her trip on a tree root. Yelping, she fell to the ground again, shocked.

The demon didn't move from the spot that she was standing, she just stood there and continued to watch the girl curiously. Judging from the girl's new scent, the demon guessed that she was a witch.

Rose, unnerved by the demon's staring, began to shout. She thought she might have heard someone coming anyway. "Help! Is there anyone there? Help!" She scrabbled in her pockets for her wand, and shot red sparks into the air, for good measure.

Just then, the demon looked up into the air. She could smell the scent of a wizard nearby. She turned around with her back towards the girl and she began to follow the wizard's scent.

"What?" Rose thought out loud. The demon was running away...but this might mean it was going after someone else...

After a few seconds deliberation, she ran after it, watching out for tree roots, wand at the ready.

The demon continued to walked down the path, following the wizard's scent. He was close and she could feel it.
