A Little Bit Peckish

Rose sat by the lake, hugging her knees, looking out across the iron-grey water. She was suddenly overcome by a wave of hunger, and, looking around, she spotted a small mouse crawling through the grass. She licked her lips, and her slim form gradually shrunk down into that of a vixen's, in the normal way of animagi. She crept up on the mouse and pounced. Yum.

Later, she was still sitting by the lake, still in her fox form. She was hit by the realisation of the loneliness of her existence. She let out a piercing, heart-wrenching wail.
