Sikes Orphange

Harriate sighed as she sat by the gates which locked the occupants of the orphange in and away from the normal world. Glancing back Harriate looked at the old warn down building that was Sikes Orphange. She hated it. She glanced longingly out of the tall gates. Harriate shivered as the sun set and darkness enveloped the grounds but she made no movement to head back inside.

Suddenly a large barn own flew over the gates and landed beside Harriate. it dropped a small slip of parchment on the ground then soared gracefully out of Sikes Orphanage. The parchment read:

Harriate, it's Tina. You have to come back to Hogwarts! I don't know if you're angry at Lupin, but he's planning to go into hiding with the other Werewolves - he's torn apart. We're all woried about you! I hope this leter reaches you, I didn't know where to find you...

Harriate read the piece of paper and frowned slightly.
Why was remus leaving when she had left so he wouldnt have to. harriate searched for the owl to send a reply but it had gone. sighing Harriate looked up at the clouds as it started to rain and placed the letter in her sock. Heading back towards the building Harriate peaked inside hoping no one was around to yell at her for being wet and ran to the dorm.
Entering the dorm she made her way down the long room filled with beds to the one by the window in the corner at the back. There was no light in the corner which suited Harriate just fine. Throwing off her clothes she put on her orphanage cotton pajamas and sat on her bed staring out at the rain.
'Should i go back?..No....I ruined it for Remus and Cody..i don't deserve to go back.' SHe whispered into the empty room. Everyone else was still at dinner. Harriate watched as the lightning flashed through the sky and sighed resting her head to the glass.

There was a muffled 'Bang!' as the own flew into the window. It hooted and stood up, pecking the window. It wanted a reply.

Harriate jumped back from the window and fell on the floor in surprise. She glanced at the door fearfully hoping no one had heard the noise and tried to open the window. It would only open the smallest amount.
Taking the note out of her sock she grabbed a pencil from under her bed and scribbled a reply.

Of course i am not angry at Professor Lupin. Please stop him from leaving i left so he wouldn't have to.

Sticking the paper out of the window Harriate tried to get the owl to take it.

Early the next morning, the owl is back, with a note tied round it's ankle. It squeezes through the open window and pecks Harriate till she wakes up.

Harriate groaned and swatted at the owl before her eyes shot open. She glanced around fearfully signalling for the owl to keep quiet. Realising everyone was still asleep she carefully untied the note hoping no one woke up any time soon.

I've tried! He won't listen to me! You have to come back! He thinks you hate him.

Harriate sighed as she read the note before having an idea. Quietly she searched under her bed for a spare piece of paper.
'Will you take a letter to Remus for me?'

Professor Lupin

Tina told me your thinking of running away and joining the other werewolfs.
Please don't go. i left so no one will ever find out what happened. Your a fantastic teacher and you have your two sons to look after don't let me ruin it for you. You deserve better than living in some forest and professor Dumbledore said he would help. Please go back to Hogwarts.

Harriate Riddle

Tying the note to the owl she stroked its feathers.
'Please take that to Remus Lupin for me.'

Sometime later the owl returned with a scruffy piece of parchment.

You did not ruin my life, I did that myself, I am not angry at you at all, just wish I could have helped you more, I hope you are alright and wish you would come back to the school, Dumbledore would be understanding and will help you. I told him what happen before I left.

Harriate smiled slightly seeing the owl but checked around again to make sure no one was awake. Reading the reply she sighed and grabbed another piece of paper.

Dear Professor Lupin

I can't come back knowing you won't. I don't want you to blame yourself for biting me or anything. That was my fault not yours. I won't go back to Hogwarts after all the trouble i have caused, knowing i'm one of the reasons you left. If you go back maybe i'll think about it.

Lupin was by the fire relaxing when the owl returned. He read it and narrowed his eyes "She never listens" he muttered and he turned the paper over and writ on the back has he had no more paper left.

After sending the owl off Harriate had headed to the 'mess' room and sat down at a desk there thinking. It should be another hour before anyone got up. She itched at her neck slightly as the old pajamas werent the softest. Seeing the owl she opened the window and read the reply a stunned look on her face.

Dear Mr Lupin (yeah thats weird not saying professor)

You really wouldn't mind if i joined you? i'd love to if you don't mind. Probaly better than here. If your sure....where abouts are you? might take me a while to get there. I don't mind if you don't want me to.

Hurrying back to the dorm she changed out of the pajamas and shoved them in an old bag. She put on her old black jeans tank and boots and grabbing the bag snuck downstairs and out the open window in the mess room. Scaling the gate she ran down the road and took a train up towards Hogwarts.
